"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them"
Lest we forget.
Remembrance Day is held on the anniversary of the Armistice that ended fighting with Germany in WWI. At around 5am on 11 November 1918, the Armistice was signed by representatives of France, Britain and Germany, and six hours later at 11am, the guns fell silent on the Western Front. Remembrance commemorations began a year later in 1919, on what was originally known as Armistice Day.
The Ellenbrook RSL Sub Branch will be holding a ceremony today. Please refer to their Facebook page for more details.

COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT
The Ellenbrook Eels are excited to announce Life Member, Adam ‘Puppa’ Watts will return to lead our Third Grade for season 2025.
A player that leads by example, Puppa is a well-respected and loved member by the playing group. He was always willing to give the Colts a go as they developed towards higher levels of footy, and pushed the team to secure some big wins last season.
A committee member again in 2025, Puppa works hard on and off the field.
Great news for the Eels to have Adam ‘Puppa’ Watts back at the helm this coming season!

COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT
The Ellenbrook Eels are excited to announce that Chris McCarthy will return to lead our Women's team for 2025.
Chris has built a strong culture, with some budding stars developing under his watch. Working closely alongside our U/17's Girls @edjfc coaches, Chloe Stone & Leah Frisina, Chris is opening pathways for any skill level to join our team.
In 2024, the Women's team challenged all grades in their support, event turnout, costume etiquette, and comradery on, and off the field. We are excited to see what 2025 will bring!
Generally, we would say congratulations to Chris McCarthy on his appointment, but in this case we will say Congratulations to the Ellenbrook Eels for appointing Chris McCarthy for Season 2025!

Coaching announcement.....
Past 6069 player returns to be our Ruck coach.
Luke Newick returns to the Eels.
As many of you may know, Luke’s brother Troy was the driving force behind our other two Founders, Vaughn Roberts and Ben Franks, the three men that founded our football club.
After a decorated playing career at Subiaco in the WAFL where Luke won 4 x premierships in a row and was the state ruckman for WA.
Luke came to the Eels to play along side bothers Troy and Brad, playing in the 2011 Grand Final for the Eels.
Luke will take Ruck coaching sessions for all our rucks in every grade and will assist with the connection between our rucks and mids.
Luke brings a tremendous amount of knowledge, experience and ruck craft and will certainly help our rucks develop there game.
Luke and his family live in The Vines making Luke a genuine 6069 person π
I’m really excited to have Luke back involved with the club and I know his input will help us achieve success and make the club great.
We welcome Luke and family back to the mighty Eels in 2025 π
